Long since erased from the records of time, there once existed two European clans who served as overseers of history for the powers that be: The Umbra Witches, dwellers of the darkness, and the Lumen Sages, controllers of light. The clans paid each other great respect, and their efforst to maintain the balance between them defended the just passage of time. Yet one day, that balance was toppled. The once harmonious clans fell into disagreement and stoked the flames of hatred against each other, resulting in an era of strife. The conflict between the Umbra and Lumen threw all of Europe into a chaotic loop of battle, ambush, assasination, and casualty. It was truly a gruesome war. Despite the tremendous radience of God shining upon them, the Lumen Sages were gradually weakened by the assault of the secretive dark witches. Years after the balance was lost, the war had ended in the Umbra Witches' favor. Their victory was short-lived. Fearing the witches' dark abilities, humans began to condemn the remaining Umbra. They launched the witch hunts, rounding up the battle-weary witches with little resistance and subjugating those who wished to continue the struggle. Human faith in the miracles of their God pushed the witch hunts further, and soon the Umbra Witches, keepers of the darkness, were extinguished from the Earth. All but one.
Bayonetta is the main protagonist of the video game franchise of the same name. She's the last Umbra Witch, one who lost her memories and past, and seeks to find it. Bayonetta is a gorgeous woman with black hair and gray-as-steel eyes. She's tall, mysterious and confident. She doesn't let her life be dictated by others and likes to stick to herself. She's a loner, determined and fights her own fights. She's strong, capable and kicks angel ass in order to fulfill her demonic contract. Her real name is Cereza, she is of Spanish origin, but everyone (except her girlfriend bestfriend, Jeanne, is the only one who calls her Cereza) calls her Bayonetta. The origin of the name comes from her fighting style- the bayonet style, a type of fighting style where one fights melee with guns. It is said (at least in the movie/Bloody Fate) the name was given to her by Rodin. Bayonetta has a mutlitude of magical powers, she can summon giant arms/heel referred to as Wicked Weaves, she can turn into various beast forms, and much more.
Bayonetta is by far my FAVORITE character of all time. I find her to be so, empowering. I adore her confidence in her looks, abilities and bite; Her determination to keep going no matter how hard things get, her beautiful voice and fashion style... She is everything to me. She embraces her hyperfemininity, despite this troupe being heavily villified in media, she's at heart a good person, she is a very empathetic person, especially to children. She embraces her everything, she does not care for comforming to others'comfort, she does not loose her sense of indentity at any point in the games, no matter how much she changes she's still herself, and I find that to be so . comforting, so beautiful and... amazing. She knows she is fine the way she is, she does not change for anyone, and she is comfortable with her ways. And despite all of these positive things about her, she still has flaws, she's still a person- a human being.
Even after all of this though, I see her being called such disgusting names online. People referring to her as a "slut", "whore", "manipulator", etc. Things that are just simply not true. She is not a slut, the very person that designed her described her as someone who would not show her body to someone easily. She is not a "whore", she never actually in the games does sexual stuff aside from the single THREE times over 3 games she moans, and only one of these times was it in the story (the rest are for the Platinum trohpies). She is not a "manipulator", even I dont get where this is coming from, she never manipulates people, if this is due to her treatment of Luka that is simply false, Luka is a guy who had been stalking her for 20+~ years because he mistaked her for killing his dad, something she did not due; while she never said no to his accusations, the fact he was SO very engrossed in her for that for so many years, and kept trying to take pictures of her, followed her around the globe, etc. is creepy.
Honestly, I just dislike when shes sexualized alot, people calling her "mommy", describing her as lewd and sexual, etc. it just makes me... uncomfortable, because it's really not true. God forbid a woman be happy with herself, own her body and flaunt it in the face of her enemies to in a way say "you cannot censor me. you will not hold my confidence or femininity back, and you will not stop me!". I have grown so heavily attatched to her, she is my greatest comfort. I love her so so so much she means so much to me, my wife mi esposita amor d mi vida tqm mwuah ... i love her everything, the way she carries herself, her speaking and body mannerisms, her little mole, her (similiar to me) affection for cats, her everything. i love her, i love her so much, she is everything i aspire to be, she's just . i love her SO MUCH she means sm to me. i love her beehive, her glasses and how they always have a cute little design on the sides, i love her various outfits and leotards and every hairstyle shes had. i love herrrrrrr ...
